“I do not want to talk to my computer. I do not want to use OneDrive. I’m sure as hell not going to use Recall. I am tired of Windows trying to get me to use Edge, Edge trying to get me to use Bing, and everything trying to get me to use Copilot. I paid for an Office 365 subscription so I could edit Excel files. Then Office 365 turned into Microsoft 365 Copilot, and I tried to use it to open a Word document and it didn’t know how.”

I currently consume a lot of Linux-related content and found this small channel where the creator is experimenting with Linux distros on old and more recent Macbooks.
I am currently enjoying a lot this podcast where these 2 guys dual boot Linux and Windows to see if they can at the end of the podcast delete on the 2 OSes
I learn a lot from their experiment and it makes me want even more to dual boot Linux on my Mac
I haven't yet seen people around me switch to Linux but some are talking about switching to Linux at some point in the future, which isn't surprising when we see what Microsoft and Apple are doing.
In my case, I have been also thinking about it. My old MacBook Pro has been my Linux experiment, currently running Fedora. My current MacBook Pro is an Intel one and Tahoe (Which I don't want to update to) will be the latest macOS version possible so I will probably try a dualboot at some point.

We are all in the same boat. We have the tools, the freedom of choice, and it costs us nothing. If we don't like a solution, we can say so and choose something else. Why this violence?"
Following Simon's journey in leaving the Apple garden for Linux has been really interesting and made me reflect on my macOS usage. I have been slowly reducing the software I use and switching to software usable on Linux.
I also put Linux Mint on my old macBook Pro 2015, and will probably try Debian 13 Trixie on it since I want to test GNOME 48.
